Incorporating Cannabis into Self-Love Rituals

Here at Bazaar Mystik, we are always looking for new ways to incorporate cannabis into our practice. Take a look at a few of our favorite ways to incorporate the yerba magica into your self-love routine too.


1. Gather the supplies you will need:

  1. cannabis (any form blunt, bong, joint, dab, etc.),

  2. a lighter, candle, or match,

  3. a rose quartz crystal,

  4. a self-love affirmation of your choice.



2. Set your intention


What is your intention for this ritual? Take some time to meditate on what you would like to achieve. What are some ways you can love yourself more? You may want to write them down or say them out loud.


3. Cleanse your space


Open a window, sweep with salt, light some cleansing herbs, and set the mood with relaxing music. You can also use a simple saltwater, bells, or essential oil solution. There are several popular methods for cleansing, and any one or a combination of the above methods will work. Simply choose what resonates with you.



4. Ground and center yourself


Take a few deep breaths, inhaling through your mouth and exhaling through your nose. Begin to ground and center yourself. You can achieve this by taking deep breaths, standing in running water, or even standing barefooted on the Earth while visualizing roots growing from your feet down into the Earth.


5. Now is the time to call in your spirit guides (optional)


Call in your guides, deities, or the elements, depending on your path. These could be ancestors, guardians, deities, spirit animals, or any other being(s) you feel led to work with.




6. Make your offering (optional)


Many often use Cannabis as an offering to the Gods or Goddesses. You can also use it as an offering to your ancestors or any other being you are working with. Other popular items provided as offerings include water, spirits, fruit, bread, sweets, tobacco, etc.


7. Prepare your cannabis


If you're using dried herb, grind it up. If you're using a concentrate, get your dab or vape rig ready. Make sure to focus on your intention while doing this. Try to visualize your desired outcome as you roll up or get your bong ready. Since we are talking about self-love, visualize your best self. Feel proud of yourself for your accomplishments.

8. Meditate with your cannabis


Hold the cannabis in your hands close to your heart. As you do so, visualize love and light entering your body and flowing from you in all directions. Visualize yourself surrounded by pink light. You could even give yourself a hug. Studies show this automatically increases self-compassion. See yourself accomplishing your goals while following your dreams.


9. Hold your crystal


Hold the Rose Quartz in your non-dominant hand and focus on its energy. Visualize it amplifying the love and light within you. Continue to visualize yourself enveloped in pink light.




10. Repeat your affirmation


Say your chosen affirmation out loud 3 times. Feel the love and power within you grow with each repetition. A sample affirmation might sound like this, "I deserve love, kindness, and relaxation. Today, I will honor my needs and engage in self-care activities that replenish my energy and bring joy to my heart."


11. Continue to meditate on self-love


Sit in silence for as long as you like, focusing on the love within you growing and radiating outward. Allow yourself to feel completely loved, supported, and safe.





12. Enjoy your smoke


Now it's time to enjoy your smoke! With each hit imagine the smoke being charged with pink love energy. As you take the smoke into your lungs, visualize this energy penetrating every cell in your body. If you prefer to use edibles, no worries! This ritual can be adapted. Just do your visualizations while eating/drinking. In the end, all that's left is to relax and let the cannabinoids work their magick!


If you need some self-love on a day when you don't have quite enough time to go through all the above steps here are a few more ideas for quicker self-love canna sessions!




1. Relaxing Bath:


Start by drawing a bath and adding some soothing Epsom salts and/or essential oils. Go all out if you have time by adding some candles around. While the tub is filling up, go ahead and roll yourself a joint, pack a bowl of your favorite weed, get your brownie ready, etc. Once you're in the tub, take some deep breaths and relax into the water. Let all your worries wash away as you focus on self-love and self-care. In too big of a hurry for a bath? Adapt this quick self-love ritual into a shower instead! Bonus points if you bring your rose quartz and burn some incense!

2. Skincare Routine:


Applying a face mask and taking the time to do a full skincare routine is such an act of self-love. Light some candles and/or incense, put on some relaxing music, and take your time massaging in that face cream or scrubbing away dead skin cells. Adding cannabis and crystals into the mix will only elevate your relaxation and help any skin ailments you may have.




3. Make Some Art:


Whether you consider yourself an artist or not, making something with your own two hands is an incredibly satisfying feeling. Break out the art supplies and let your mind flow onto the paper or canvas in front of you. Cannabis can help open up your creativity and give you the mental space to really let loose and make something beautiful.
